Call for Posters

The poster session at the CIE-GNYC Convention, which will be held on Oct. 22, 2016 at the Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel in Flushing, NY, is specially designed for students at both undergraduate and graduate levels to meet with accomplished convention attendees, to exchange ideas, to share experience and to network with them. Many of them are active engineers, researchers and managers in various companies in the GNYC area. For students who are interested in this career development opportunity, please submit your poster abstract along with your biography to poster@cieusa-gnyc.org before Sep. 28, 2016.

Please format your submission using the attached 1-page template.

Your submission should include:

● Title of the poster

● The names/affiliations and contact information of the corresponding author

● The names/affiliations and contact information of all authors

● A biography of the presenter (100-200 words with a picture)

● A half-page abstract describing the content of the poster

The poster selection committee will review all submitted posters and notification of acceptance will be sent to the corresponding author by Oct. 5, 2016.

The presenter of an accepted poster is required to pre-register for the convention and proofread his/her biography and abstract before Oct. 12, 2016, in order to be included in the convention proceedings.  The poster presenters will pay a reduced registration fee for the convention ($30, including a CIE student membership and a dinner banquet ticket). On the day of the convention, the major presenter of each poster will receive a certificate of appreciation and a $50 reimbursement for the material and transportation expenses. Co-authors of accepted posters are also encouraged to register as student members of CIE and attend the convention.  The final standard poster size is 48”w x 36”h. The major presenter of each poster should be marked by an underline.

A student member of CIE will enjoy the privileges of broader networking, mentorship, and potential internship or job opportunities with one of the CIE members’ companies or institutions, as well as opportunities for collaboration with CIE members etc.  For more information about CIE-GNYC, please visit http://www.cieusa-gnyc.org/ .
